he was on National Geographic tonight last night at 10 PM here in San Diego, I'm sure it was on several times yesterday. At the end of the show they showed Bob Clark's breeding facility, his retics and a few other snakes including a two headed california kingsnake. His segment was the only plus I could see for the herp world.
The very beginning they show captive pet primates and they basically put reptiles in with the same catagory. They gave the illusion that most reptiles were wild caught and live out short lives, much like captive primates (unless they too are commonly captive bred). They said nothing about the captive breeding that is going on for most of if not almost completely in captive reptiles now-a-days, until of course they put Bob Clark on. They did mention the HSUS trying to ban ALL captive exotic pets. I don't know, I think National Geographic should of done a little more research and talked about all the captive breeding that is going on, and not just the common assumption that reptiles are wild caught.
