beardie question

okeeteekid Oct 26, 2009 07:08 PM

Newbie question, do beardies usually keep their color or loose it as they get older, this guy is a little over 12 inches long, he looks a little brighter in person, or does it matter what bloodlines they are from, he is Rich Beasley bloodlines if that helps any.
thanks

That's a beautiful dragon,Rich always has nice animals...in general some dragons lose some of their color, some do the opposite, start out with some color and then get more as they mature. That dragon there will be very nice, the patterns usually change as they grow on many dragons and many babies that have a bold pattern will lose much of it as they grow. They are all different,no one can predict exactly what the end result of any dragon's looks will be for certain.I have patternless adults that look much different than when they were babies.

Thanks for your reply, so some fade and others color up, thats very interesting, i hope that he keeps some of his color into adulthood, the father of my guy is very nice looking, i guess I'll just have to wait and see how he turns out.

I hope I'm getting the pics on here...this is an example of how the baby with a pattern turns into a patternless adult. This is one of my holdbacks as a juvie and as an adult.

Thanks Greg...I have pics of her about every month or two after that juvie pic there and the transformation kept getting more and more obvious.I didn't expect that outcome,I've had babies that start out beautiful and stay that way and babies that start out kind of dull that end up that way.

Cool, i bet your glad you kept that one back.
