I've got a fiesty one...are all blizzards this way?

RedQuake Sep 17, 2003 07:53 PM

Nala (female blizzard) has got a temper on her like no other!!! She started shedding but there was still skin on her feet, tail and head that had been there a while and all she would do is lay around on the cold side of her tank. So i did the warm bath thing and spent a good hour trying to help get the rest of the skin off. During this, she wailed almost nonstop, trying to bite me at every chance. Are all blizzards like this? My hypo, Dot went through the same procedure, even sat in my hand while i gently took off the skin on her foot.

I'm confused as to why the difficulty shedding......all of the tanks have UTH set to 88 degrees and a humid hide with moist paper towels.

At least Nala is more active now.

not all blizzards are, but a good amount are. i have a feeling it is due to not enough out crossing, and the bad tempered ones are very closely related to the originals, which may have had something wrong with them, other then just being mutated. or they could have also just been angry, but i wonder how it could have been passed on if thats the case. the blizzards i've had, sold 2, and 1 died, were all just as calm as any other leo.

Thankyou. I have a male blizzard as well, and he's as calm as can be compared to the female. He'll run around his tank alot then hide when i clean, but he's never acted out like Nala did. He also loves the hot side of the tank, while she prefers to always stay on the cool side. Such an amazing difference in behaviour. Zoe my reduced pattern is soooooooooooooo curious and interested in everything i do, and is quite calm.

I'm really starting to get to know their personalities and i'm loving it. I just hope Nala comes around a bit.
