Superconda Super-Package!

Rextiles Oct 27, 2009 11:55 PM

After much anticipation, we received one of my wife's dream snakes a few weeks ago from our friend Brent Bumgardner, a female Superconda.

Picking our jaws up off of the floor after having seen pictures of the first Superconda a while back, we knew that if we ever had the chance to pick one up, we were going to get one.

Here's a picture of my wife at Daytona happily holding one of Brent's Supercondas:

Well, as fate would have it, Brent hatched a little girl out last month and we jumped at the opportunity as soon as we heard she was available. Considering how rare these currently are, we feel extremely privileged and owe Brent our gratitude in giving us this opportunity to be included in this wonderful project.

So, without further ado, here's Twix (another one of my wife's chosen names), our beautiful little Superconda.

Thanks for looking!

They really are. I thought the pictures of Brent's were great until we got to see and hold his at Daytona. That's when I knew we were definitely sold on getting one.

Your comment made my wife smile big time. She's always coming up with these funny and fruity names for most of our snakes and when she came up with Twix, I just couldn't argue that one.

Thanks a lot Louie!

Hm, what are we going to breed her to...? That's a good question. To be honest, considering she's got a couple of years til she's breedable, I'm not really sure what I'll be planning that far in advance or even working with. Fortunately, we have Axanthics, Pink Pastels, Hypos and Albinos to work with, so I guess we'll just have to cross that bridge when we come to it. But off the cuff, my wife really really wants patternless PPA's and Axanthics, so I guess that's my short answer.

Nice Addition !
Would love to see that in Red.

Nice Addition ! Would love to see that in Red.

Thanks John! Well, that's going to be the interesting project, especially considering the majority of red you see in Westerns is on the dorsal pattern and being that the Superconda line is devoid of all but the head pattern, I kind of doubt you'll see an all red Western any time soon. Obviously some of the Extreme Red Albinos out there exhibit a form of red base coloring, but it's typically mottled with other colors such as white. So it will be interesting how far a person could try and take a project such as creating a red Superconda.

Now Kevin Rhodes' Spider project on the other hand, that should prove very very interesting in producing such an animal. Definitely be on the lookout for everything he's producing, that's going to be another very awesome project to work with when it hits the market.

Hey Troy

You are a lucky man indeed. Being able to secure a Superconda is terrific, as Brent has stated, there are few in the world. But you are even luckier, having a wife who also loves the hoggies. It doesn't get any better than that!

Hi Wendell, Good to hear from you again! I hope all is going well on your end.

You are correct, I am a very lucky man to not only have such a great wife, but one who actually gets more excited and pushes to add these wonderful animals to our collection. Without her and all of her wonderful support, we wouldn't be where we are at right now.

Thanks for commenting!

If you ever get tired of looking at that little girl, just package her up and send her to me!

Seriously--She is beautiful and I am SO jealous!

Thanks so much! I think you are going to be waiting a very long time. We can't wait until she outgrows her little worm status. She's so beautiful right now, I can't wait until she becomes an adult and looks just as exquisite as any and all of Brent's wonderful Supercondas.

Thanks Mark! Well, Brent has already produced the first Albino Anaconda and it's pretty much all yellow except of course it's minimal dorsal pattern colors. Maybe he'll be kind enough to repost pictures of that wonderful Anaconda so people will have another opportunity to see just how awesome this whole project is.

Thanks a lot Jeff! That really means a lot to us, especially coming from such a great person. I hope all is going well for you and all of your animals. How's that beautiful little snow doing? I knew I should have bought him at Daytona when the price was only at $10k. LOL
