Monster anerythristic Honduran

robhaneisen Oct 28, 2009 08:49 PM

I think this guy is the biggest Honduran milk I have and is the biggest anery I've ever seen. He is also het for hypo and is the father of most of my ghosts. He is from Dave Doherty's line and is extremely clean for an anery. I think he's cleaner than many ghosts. For a size reference, I'm 5'8'' and the snake is 6'3". He is also over 1,200 grams. He is 7 years old and I've had him since he was a hatchling. No, I don't feed him steroids.

One funny thing about him is he was an absolute spazz until about 18 months of age. That when he started breeding. That seemed to calm him down because now he is as tame as a corn snake.

A good roll in the hay seems to calm ALL males down..LOL!

That is a nice big boy!

I have some nice clean anery's and hets from Brian Barczyk's original line from WAY back that he also acquired from Dave many years ago when Dave first had some for sale.

Here is a pic of the original male I bought from Brian as a hatchling when they were going for $800 dollars..LOL!. He's about 5 ft.

Thanks Doug. I remember when I bought this male back in 2002 I paid $750 for him and a female tri-color hypo het for anery. They made plenty of nice ghosts. The picture below is one of their clutches from I think 2005.

Those are definitely sweet, clean looking babies, and that's certainly no surprise, seeing as that big male you have is as clean as they come man!

congrats!

Thanks Rodney.

Rob,

that snake is sweeet. It is really clean no doubt. Great shots of you holding it, that really puts size in perspective. I hope he sires a lot of animals for you - maybe he'll pass on his monster proportions to future generations.

Thanks Dave. He has produced some great babies in the past four years as one of y best breeders. Funny that most of his babies have't been my biggest (although they have been big) but they have always been the cleanest. My biggest have come from my tang. albino male breeder who is just as big as this anery.

Sunherp Oct 29, 2009 09:17 AM

That thing is a beast, Rob! You've got some nice milks, but that guy is simply fantastic.

With a milk that big are you feeding small rats?

Mike

robhaneisen Oct 29, 2009 09:57 PM

I've fed him small rats on occasion but I usually give him two jumbo mice instead.

mfoux Oct 29, 2009 12:49 PM

Sweet snake, Rob. I've got an anery from Shannon that looks just like that...except smaller. He's only 4 feet, but still growing.
