Those are some nice pick-ups, Jimmy.
It's been awhile since I've found a Black King.

thanks Tim
I usually find a couple of black kings a year.
I think I found three this year. This is just around work.
I didn't get a chance go "herping" even once this year...never seemed to find the time.

speaking of the black kings
I can't believe they're not more popular then they are.
I think and adult Eastern Black King looks a lot better then a "chain". I think the wide bands on the Eastern Chains distract from the look.
AND captive bred or captive raised are pretty calm kings.
If I ever decided to start breeding kings these are the way I would go.
I think they are the bairds rat of the king world...lol

and to keep this on topic

Jimmy,

If you haven't checked it out, http://www.blackkingsnake.com/ is a great Eastern Black King "fansite."

I agree that it's a bit surprising that they haven't "caught on," but I guess a lot of cool snakes haven't (Prairie Kings, Grey Rat Snakes, Shovel-nosed Snakes, etc.).

They look good Jimmy! I'm really glad that you like them and I hope that they grow to be good breeders for you. Hopefully those possible hets prove out.

I'm happy with our deal and I hope that we're able to work together again in the future.
