Jefferson Co. MO Syspila

deepblue Oct 30, 2009 01:09 PM

Anybody still working with this locality? Any pics? Does any one locality of Syspila keep the brightness of their white bands into adulthood more than others? Thx

MO has changed its laws so you may not get a response here but they are too pretty for some people not to be working with them...as I am sure some are grandfathered. Milks are extremely variable, there is no end all be all monotype for anywhere. Clean milks are rare as adults, and breeding a "clean" to a "clean" wont guarantee results as its not a simple recessive trait. You increase your chances of course. Further, most breed for locale so not many have attempted "clean" locale A to "clean" locale B. The older the animal the darker it gets, I'm not sure how long some have had their NA milks but I believe they are really long lived in the wild. Alot of variable to consider.

All of those are beautiful, but the three at the end sure are unique looking! They're very similar in pattern to the oddly colored one Dell posted in the photo series of some of my stock ...
