Got new pits last week

KevinM Oct 30, 2009 03:12 PM

I posted previously for suggestions on a pit project and am happy to say I got a pair of 09 sonoran gophers last week from KJUN Snakehaven. Pending on their father, they are either locality animals from stock captured near/at Christmas Mtns. area in Texas, or het. for blizzard LOL!! Either way, I like them and time will tell what they are genetically when bred together down the road. I got a pair of 09 bulls this summer on a whim at a herp show I attended as a vendor selling my baby cornsnakes. The vendor next to me had a nice selection of baby bulls and was a reputable guy. Needless to say I was particularly intriqued with the amel and red bull babies he had for sale. A horse trade later for some of my corns, and I had an amel female and red male pair LOL!! So, I quess for the time being I am officially into pits LOL!!

great choice of animals to start with..... I believe KJ showed me those when we were there!

I wonder how long before you post post after getting your next group of Pituophis? I am guessing soon!

Cheers, Ginter

There were a couple of reasons I never got into them hardcore before and always managed to trade off the one or two oddball pits I acquired in the past. The first was their attitudes. The second was their overall size. I am ready to take on both now, but obviously you can't keep the same amount of pits in the same space as the same amount of corns LOL!!
