Boaphile and Animal Plastic

tbone21 Oct 31, 2009 11:13 AM

Can I get some opinions on both for these cages? I am looking and the 4 x 2 x 11.5 for my Red tail boas. I am leaning with the heat tape to have them install since its such a low cage. My first time experience with cages that are not tanks or melamine ones I built. I dont want to build melamine ones cause they are in my basement where it is damp and think it would ruin the melamine so am going to spring the extra bucks. Second question is how hard is it to install heat panel if I wanted to afterwards? One final question on them is any problems with the one door? I am looking at the one door or the two door. Final note I also looked at the animal plastics but didnt like having to assemble but do like the sliding doors so any opinions on those welcome too.

I love my T10 cages, I'm a big fan of slider doors and AP is the only one of the two that offer the option. White is a bad choice.

I have a couple white AP cages that I really like. Just curious as to why you consider white to be a bad choice?

Hope you still need this advice. I got a Boaphile 2 years ago for my male BP. I got it in black because black goes with everything and I figured it might make him feel a little more secure because it's darker (duh, what's darker than black). Mine is 3'Lx2'Dx1.5'H approx., incandescent bulb and UTH on one side. Single door, locks on top instead of just latches as I wanted to be absolutely sure that my kittens could not interact with him. I love everything about this cage, especially compared to the 29gal tank he was in previously. It looks much cleaner and sharper, it is easy to clean and heat, cheaper to heat, everything is easily accessible. I am not sure about adding anything to it (as far as fixtures, UTH's) aftermarket, as I've never tried. There is a forum on the Boaphile Plastics website, maybe someone there would be able to tell you. All in all, I think it is a spectacular cage for the price, and when I get more pythons he will definitely be getting more of my business.
