ChaosCat Sep 17, 2003 09:34 PM

Just got these guys today in trade

Male AHS:

(he's very inquisitive)

Female AHS:

(She's the shy one)

They are so amazingly tiny-bigger than my batch of corns, but still small.

I've been keeping AHS for a few years and they are really neat snakes. Great temperament, never bite and super easy to feed. I've got a pair of Red and Brown adults that I should get another clutch out of pretty soon. Hopefully I'll get fertile eggs this time and keep the molding to a minimum... I just got a pair of hatchling Black/Green phase last week and I couldn't believe how small they were when I opened the containers. I'd forgotten how tiny these guys are at hatching. They're about 8" long and maybe a 1/4" at their widest. I was amazed when both readily ate a live mouse pink each, and not a newborn pink either. I love their eyes and the eye stripes. They're kind of like a mini boid in their behaviour. I'm glad more people are showing an interest in these nifty little snakes. Hope you enjoy your new pair and thanks for sharing your excellent pics.

Wow, you should post pics of your black/green phase ones, I've never seen that phase. I can't believe how small these two are either, going to try feeding them tomorrow and see what happens.

Hey, I was in the process of loading my pic to a response when we got hit by the hurricane. Still without power but found a hotel with some hot water, electricity and phone line. Here's the pic...
