aintqytrite May 25, 2003 01:09 PM

I rarely ever see my snakes drinking, i was wondering how often they do drink? every day? or days between. I know it will differ from species to speices like a dessert snake but just in general. I keep boas and pythons I have thoght about putting a 24 hr camera on the water dish

As far as I can tell, every few days for most snakes.

true, every few days only for a minute or so, snakes really only like to drink fresh water also, they usually will not drink from a week old dish so be sure to change it regularly

I've only see my boa in the act of drinking twice in the year I've had her! I've seen her head near the bowl or over the bowl, but rarely IN the bowl! I will take that fresh water comment to consideration , though, as I did not realize that!
