Anyone have experience with their cages. I just came across them and was thinking about them instead of buying boaphiles.... Any opinions..

I have the single doors, they are very sturdy. I keep boas in them. and have not had any escapees. I dont have any extra accessories, just the heat tape. Also the cages hold humidity very well. I also really like how the light can penetrate thru the plastic.

I have 4 footer 5 cage stack... 2 footers... a 2X2X2 arboreal cube and 4X2X2 show cage ,, with those artificial rock backgrounds Ed sells... these cages are great.... Urates dont stick to them and they're virtually indestructable..... I think they work better with heat panels than flexwatt.... but al in all they are the cages I prefer... I have AP cages as well... but the expanded PVC isnt ideal...... I have to sday though... AP cages are made very well if you consider the precision theyre made... but I dont think they will last very long

I have both Boaphiles and ProLine cages, which are both very good cages (I have had sagging issues with both although the sagging of the proline top does not seem to affect the doors opening). The interior foot print of the prolines is slightly larger than the boaphiles. The boaphiles stack much easier IMO.

I bought both of my 4x2 prolines used, they have the double doors, no extra accessories. I heat with heat tape on a thermostat. I have my 2 largest, oldest female boas in these. I want to get a 6x2 for the largest girl and hope to do that in 2010. She had escaped from her Boaphile (black, single door 4x2) by using her weight as leverage against a large hide box and squeezing out the middle of the door. I haven't had any escapes from the Prolines (so far! lol) I believe this is due to the double doors.

Light does pass though the white prolines. One boa rubbed a bit trying to get out at first but has stopped and I haven't really noticed any difference in the boas behaviour from being in either the black or white cage (they do have hides).

Some pics I took when someone else asked about the prolines:

showing how the light is visable through the cage

I honestly haven't decided which cages to use when I buy more 4x2s, I might try something completely different.
Good luck!

And I think I like the Prolines better. They are made of a sturdier plastic and will NOT ever crack or break. It is also easier to clean them b/c the plastic is totally non pourous(sp?). Just my 2 cents so take it for what its worth......

I agree I had both and I thought Proline cages are very nice...very easy to clean and love the white! They didnt crack or rust either.

Just curious chad. What did the setup in your picture cost you?

ChadHorne Nov 03, 2009 08:18 PM

I don't recall the price off hand but Jeff Ronne has all of his prices listed at his site:

Jeff's a great guy with great customer service, you should give him a call.

Those look like nice cages. Lots of cages and lots of opinions. Think I will have to stick with Proline for the previous mentioned reasons, ...easy to clean, don't crack, hdpe has many great qualitys. Anyway, , like I said, many cages , many ideas.
