the language that the originator used in his statement is so inflamatory and insulting he/she has opened themselves up to a giant lawsuite with accusations on there that he would not be able to prove in court. if he pushes this they will bury him with lawyers. I am just saying...

I was thinking that myself, actually. Without proof at hand, this almost seems like slander.
While I am no great fan of HSUS, one does have to wonder what the world would have been like for animals if it weren't for their (sometimes misguided) efforts to improve their quality of life.

I agree completely on both points. It is slander if you say anything that you absolutely cannot prove to be true and even though I hate what they are trying to do to us, it can't be dennied that they do alot of good for alot of animals.

This has been done several times and honestly should continue to be done. The slander part will NEVER happen, even with them being nasty, dirty lying extremists. They have their hands in everything animal related. But, the reptile world needs to join with the other animal owners to really be heard. When I had "big cats" we always had to deal with these idiots, and believe me I have spoke with many of them. Then they will side with people in the industry that they just attacked. For the reptile world you can bank that they will try to befriend someone very vested into large snakes that is looking to lose a huge sum and get them to turn on the other clicks within the industry. We had big cats then Tippi Hendren and Carol Lewis (who I know has pushed on the burm bill IN Florida) became "Sanctuaries" AND TRIED TO HELP PUSH LEGISlation, but it excluded them. It will happen, be ready. Remember the CALM before the STORM...
