I may be low...but my main concern was the thought of you thinking there was such thing as a 7 foot Floridana....
I used to have a 69 inch male hypo Floridana.....Never weighed him though.....

Years ago at beginning of the "reptile show" era, a guy from Columbus, Ohio had a 7' male brooksi that was as big around as a soup can. When I first saw the snake I thought it was a python. I'm not saying they are common, but I have seen it with my own eyes.

That was a big bruiser!. What was the exact length, do you know?

"Cleo" must have been a definite male then, correct?

Man, 5.5 lbs. is unreal!, but then again, it certainly looks it too...LOL!

was he a florida king ?

varanid Nov 11, 2009 02:18 AM

wow! big kingsnake.

This 59 inch '07 male is 1150 grams(just over 2.5 pounds), so he's still got some good growing to do, so it could easily get up to around 3 to 3 1/2 pounds. considering this one is 2.5 pounds, a 6 footer at 3.5 pounds is BIG by anyones standards, that's all there is to it.

6 ft. to just over 6 ft. is a monster, but 7 foot?,..I'd have to see it next to a tape measure to even begin to believe it as fact.
