Post shed-Yellow Belly Spider het Pied

evansnakes Nov 12, 2009 03:36 AM

I am having a really tough time with lighting and flash trying to get the bright yellow and orange all over these guys as well as the crazy flames and blushing to show up well in pics. It is really tough. Anyway, here is one of the yellow belly spiders het pied close up and personal. They are absolutely amazing color and pattern in person, hopefully my bad pics give you an idea. She is squeezed in between two sibling spider het pieds and you can see a pretty dramatic difference between her and them. E

If you just pull up that photo in photoshop or iphoto, and reduce the exposure a bit, that should do the trick-if necessary you can also mess with contrast, etc until your results better reflect reality.

I appreciate it but I dont know how to photshop anything and I think I am better off that way. It is a pretty slippery slope from doing touch up editing to making the animals look different than they really do. E

Did you not already state that your photos ALREADY make your snakes look different than they really are?

so you would have no problem telling people you doctor your pics when you sell snakes for a living? again, thanks for your opinion, but I am not going to photo shop my pics it doesn't really matter what approach you take

brhaco Nov 12, 2009 07:41 PM

Seriously-I have no problem saying that I ALWAYS use a good photo program to assure my customers that the pictures of my snakes are absolutely as close as is humanly possible to their actual appearance. I do it with the snake right there in front of me so that I can match appearance to reality as closely as possible.

If you want to call that "doctored", then go ahead. But every professional breeder I know does the same.

well I am a professional breeder and I do not and will not. Again, thanks for your imput but I choose not too. Is that ok? can you let it drop now?

brhaco Nov 13, 2009 07:55 AM

My "imput" was an honest attempt to be helpful, and suggest a simple fix for a poor quality photo (I have over 30 years experience in both photography and snake breeding). You chose to respond by questioning the ethics of myself and others who are merely attempting to honestly represent their animals.

I promise to keep my opinion to myself in future, where it concerns yourself . To keep this "on topic"-here's an "honestly represented" baby Lavender albino ball from this season

This thread is a perfect example of why the people that so many would love to see post here, refuse to do so. You simply want to post a pic of something new, something that people asked me to post. I did not advertise them in the post, do not care about sales aspect or anything else, just wanted to get the pic to those who wanted to see it and yes I am proud to have produced great looking animals and want to share that aspect as well.

That is never good enough. One person has to attack you while another wants to discuss another subject, all off the topic of the thread and all turn into arguments because they never should have posted on this thread in the first place. If you did not have a comment or question about the initial post itself than there is no reason to post this crap and ruin the intention and mood of the thread and turn everything negative. That is why you do not have the people you want to have posting their new animals here now. They have left the net posting except on their own sites because they do not want to put up with this crap. And who can blame them?

Keep your insults to yourself or go to a site that welcomes bashing everyone and has no rules or real moderator. This site is intended for other things and I'm sure they will delete all this refuse. But it is just sad.

bullybreed Nov 13, 2009 07:18 PM

As a person who doesn't know either one of you. The only attacking and rude comments I have seen in this thread came from you. I love seeing the new creations, but wow man, you guys got to learn to chill.

EmberBall Nov 13, 2009 07:27 PM

Think you are overreacting unless there were some posts you took exception to that got deleted.

I for one, will never photoshop my pics taken for an ad.

"never should have posted on this thread in the first place", an interesting comment you have here Evan. I think perhaps you should heed your own advice on that one . Perhaps posting under my Super Mystic thread in the way that you did would fall under EXACTLY such a situation.

Just figured now that your on this topic I would cover my view with you right here as well...
