Oligozona & a few things more.

terryd Nov 12, 2009 10:32 AM

Took photos of a few more animals from Cole's (Sunherp) collection while their still boarding at my house.

L. t. oligozona, Salina cruz oaxaca, Mexico, locality. The male was in heavy blue, but here is the female.

The olig. musked me at one point in the photo session, and I cleaned it up, but every snake after that that I tried to take photos of went into a defensive posture and was a complete pain in the arss to take photos of. So I had to clean up even better and waited until the next day to try and take photos of the snakes. Apparently other snakes don't like the smell of musk either.
Nice defensive pose. Non-locality syspila.

I really like the saddle patterns on this syspila.

Really particular looking from this syspila and others I've posted in the past.

This Sandboa really didn't like the olig. musk, and wouldn't even let me get a shot off w/out spazing out. But the next day was the easiest snake I've ever taken photos of.
She dropped three huge neonates 10 days ago. Fascinating snake.

That's all for now, hope you enjoyed a few of the animals here.

More photos of my shtuff?! Thanks, Dell! See, you've earned that box of Perdomo Oscuros!

The oligozona are sweet. I'll have to do a big post on them in the near future. Man, that was a good pick-up! Thanks, Jeff!

Those generic syspila sure are fun, aren't they? I say we throw of those hypo males on them this spring. I'd love to see them bred into that awesome hypo line.

Sand boa! She's a beast, and while it may seem like 3 young is a small number for her to drop, they're BIG.

Thanks again, man.

Wait a minute guys, that sand boa JUST had babies? Wow, you guys need to feed her more. LOL. How big was she when full of babies? She is the "healthiest" snake I have ever seen post birth. Cool animals as always but she is awesome.

Sunherp Nov 13, 2009 09:14 AM

Produce big babies! She's a monster, and though she's generally docile, that sideways strike they've got is lightening fast! Eryx are cool snakes. I think Dell's kids will get a kick out of those fat, black and orange worms she dropped.

Thanks for the kind words

Wow... those 'oli's' are sweet... kudos to Jeff. Very nice as per usual Dell...

Cole man... enjoy it while you have the freedom to have that stellar collection of yours. Stage 1 -- you move in together... Stage 2 -- casual hints on her behalf {regardless of what she has you believing now =)} Stage 3 -- you are hiding incoming packages and/or making other shipping arrangements! Seriously though congrats man... haha.

The Mom and Dad stage.
Usually preceded by a panic ad "everything must go" to make a baby room. And it's twins!!!!!!

We're here for ya Cole and I'll hold your snakes for 18 years but I can't take the polyzona horribilis, one is plenty.
Glad you're enjoying the oligs, nice milks that are happy to see you and will wait to smell food before opening the bear trap and charging.

Didn't know you had sand boas! Need to spend more time prowling your collection.

Let there be triangulum and lo, the milkhead was born.

Ha ha ha! Hopefully Stage 5 is still a way off! And I though Chris' comments were scary... Even more so than a tub full of polyzona hatchlings!

Chris,

Thanks, broseph. Always good to hear encouraging things from a discerning keeper such as yourself.

On the other hand, your freakin' me out! I think I'll try to keep it at Stage 1. LOL

Dell - thanks for taking more pics of Cole's outstanding collection. Can't get enough of those syspila.

Cole, next time you move, I'll be happy to babysit (your snakes) for you. Also when you hit stage 5 like Jeff mentioned and you have to scale back, let me know! You've got some great stuff!

Dave,

Thanks, buddy! Glad you like the critters. Hopefully I won't be moving for a LONG, LONG time (or ever...). I appreciate the offer, though, and I'll be printing off your e-mail so that I've got it in writing! LOL

No field time?! No cigars?! Jeebus!

All joking aside, I think she'd have laid down the "law" some time ago if she was planning on it. I'm kind of a pain, after all!
