Not a lot of herps out, but I have found a few. It sucks not seeing snakes, but at least its not too cold to get out, its been in the 40s here lately.

I cant tell if they are doin it, or if one is eating the other

A black widow eating a beetle. Look to the left of them, another spider is checking it out.

I love the green heads on these guys

I thought this red paint on the dirt road was kinda weird

But then walked into this a couple minutes later. What a bummer! You got to love peaple!

Thanks,

Dan Eby

I'm pretty sure it was killed by spray paint. There are some pretty sick people out there!

Dan,

What Jerk did that?
Nice pics, even if I'm allergic to yellowjacket stings. Yikes!

Thanks Matt!

I have no idea who painted that bullsnake, I'm sure it was some idiot that thought he was saving the neighborhood.

That's awesome you're still finding a few herps out and about. Do you ever take any videos?

The reason I ask is a couple German buddies I was on vacation with in September finally posted a couple of videos they took. Here's Ruschi Tree Boa we spotted up in a tree. Not an exciting video (I'm not used to being filmed), but a very cool animal.

Thats awesome!

The one time I would have loved to have a video camera this season was when I lifted a board & a little mouse ran out & got probably 15 feet away & ran right into a hungry bull. I didnt see the snake grab the mouse, but heard it, then sat & watched it kill the mouse, eat it, then slowly take off. I didnt even have my camera on me that day, but did think to myself maybe I need to get a good video camera.

I'ma tell you what, your field pics are the best on this forum bar none! I really like the fact that you show all your state, animals and habitat, without there being less herps!

Thanks Todd!

There are plenty of people on this forum (including yourself) with better quality pics in my opinion, but I appreaciate the compliment & am glad you like them.

That's a sick macro shot. My girlfriend looked over my shoulder and shuddered. Haha. She likes the snakes, but can't handle arachnids.
