Sexing baby hogs

kangaskritters Nov 15, 2009 08:41 PM

Hello,
I just got 1.3 baby hogs and can't imagine how they were sexed. These guys are small and I'd be real afraid of hurting them. I'm used to popping baby pythons. How do you all accurately sex them when they're born? I want to know for sure that I have the right male to female ratio before too much time passes on this purchase.

The male is an albino 66% het snow and the females are an albino 66% het snow, an albino 50% het snow and a normal 66% het albino and 66% het axanthic. Fun little project to get me feet wet.
Thanks,
Charlton

Below is a link to show you how to visually sex your hogs... They are usually very easy to visually sex.. Or you can probe them using very small probes.. I am not sure of your probing experience level, but in my opinion probing hogs is not for beginners.

Thanks Mike for the link. I'll compare the "male" to the three "females" tomorrow. And I've never probed before and don't own a probing set.
