How often you change your turtles water?

alebron Sep 18, 2003 09:13 AM

I clean my baby's turtle twice a week, and I have a filter.

This totally depends uppn how big the cage/tank is and how much/what kind of filtration you have.
If you are worried about it
change it any time it looks, cloudy, yellow, or any time you see many particles moving around in it....also get a freshwater aquarium test kit and check the nitrates and ammonia.
If they are ever high,
change the water immediately
The water can LOOK clean and still be toxic.
The general rule with any water turtles is that frequent water chnages are to be expected. So its not likely you are doing it too often even though you do have a filter.
