It's nice to see some one posting a nice normal burm for a change. Now to see if we can get a discusion going whats up with the power feeding that looks to be at least a large rat if not jumbo to get a burm to that size in three months seems a little excesive. How often are you feeding it. Most of the power fed burms i've worked with and I used to work with one of the larger breeders in the country so i've seen a lot die before they are ten it just dosen't seem healthy. I currently have a burm that is 17 years old and two burms in their 20's that have never been powerfed in fact most people tell me i underfed them but i feel their longevity shows they are cared for fine (they all get a 5lb rab once a month) and get annual vet visits with a clean bill of health accross the board. This isn't ment to be an attack against you as a keeper I just wanted to get a good discusion going it's been awhile sence there has been a good feeding debate on this forum.

Hello. Nice pictures. I am new to the world of Burmese Pythons (got my first one in February from a guy, he said it was an 08). It's a Granite, and I spent more time worrying about feeding it too much because I didn't want it to be over weight and to die sooner. Although, the guy who had him before me admitted to not feeding it often, so I guess even with my 'non power feeding' he'd been even bigger by now if he had been fed properly all the time.

I got my second Burmese from Ben Rogers in September? It's a patternless green. And I never asked for its birth month or anything, but it's not near as big as yours. (I'm not attacking either, the first person I talked to about Burmese pythons was Hillbilly, and I liked his way of 'slow and steady').

I'm not actually ever trying to breed Burmese to make money off of them though, so I'm not worried about them getting big too fast.

ANYWAY, very nice pictures. ;D

well im not sure exactly how old she is but i got her as a little baby in august so i just said august 1st will be her birthday witch would make her about 3 months. I will admit when i first got her i did feed her alot but now i only feed her a large rat like once a week or after she poops out the other one. she is curently a little over 4 feet and i feed her large rats cuz buying two mediums is more expensive so i figure if she could eat a large and hold it down then might as well feed her it not cuz i wanna hurt her or power feed her its just a little cheaper and she seems healthy to me. i got 2 burms 3 retics and 1 red tail boa so its a little pricey wen it comes to feeding time. And thanks for all the good picture remarks.
