It was for sale on the classifieds recently. They were asking $25,000. I'm sorry, I don't remember the name of the seller. The snake looked fine in the pictures but too small yet to be bred, so I doubt it has produced any babies (scaleless or not).

Whoever posted it in the classifieds was using very old pictures of the snake and I believe the ad got pulled because it may have been a fraud.

The original Derma there were all kinds of rumors about it breeding and eggs and stuff but nothing ever came of it, don't know if it's actually reproduced or if it's even still alive. Given the fanfare and hype behind it's arrival if it would have proven out I'm sure we would have heard about it by now.

There was another scaleless female owned by Eugene Bessette that died recently I could be wrong but I believe he got normal appearing offspring from her so there may still be a possibility to prove it genetic.

The original owner was Justin Savkov, his brother Jake Savkov was the own trying to sell it a little while back. I was talking to a guy who knows both of the brothers. He said that to his knowledge the snake was never bred. I suspect it has been bred and didn't produce any scaleless snakes, that's why they are trying to sell it. I responded to the ad and got a bad vibe from the seller. Last I heard they still had the snake, and they were looking to get $80,000 for it. Not worth it for a trait that is probably not inheritable.

Has scalelessness ever proven out in another species of snake? I have seen scaleless garters, adders, corns, etc, but I have never heard whether or not breeding and line breeding have produced any more scaleless babies.

I think it's proven in Corns as well. BHB has a few I think.
