As a matter of fact, I think it is much better than the old forum. Next time you post a message, go down on the right side and click on tools and toys. It shows you how to do everything there. Also, your posts are really hard to read and understand, how about spell checking before you post next time??

Josh,
b22's first language isn't English.
I don't find it that hard to understand and am grateful for his many contributions to this forum.

Josh06 May 25, 2003 02:51 PM

I wasnt trying to be rude and I didnt know that his first language wasnt english. I was just giving a suggestion to make his post a little less difficult to read.

Glad I am not the only one who finds B22 very hard to understand. Seeing as English isn't is first language, using a spell check to improve his spelling skills is a good thing to suggest. His typing is too full of short cuts and simple typos more than incorrectly spelled words.

ted6199 May 25, 2003 04:23 PM

I don't think B22 is that hard to understand, & his posts are filled with irreplaceable advice! Correct grammar/spelling or not, B22 is always right on!!!

Before you talk about someone else's typographical errors you should check yours. In your sentence "Seeing as English isn't is..." It should be Seeing as English isn't his. Since people want to be jerks, I will be too. Leave B22 alone. I haven't had any problems understanding what he is trying tell people

Tracey May 25, 2003 03:57 PM

I totally agree with Christy......he writes better than many of the posters here who only speak and write English. I enjoy his enthusiasm and feel he contributes greatly to this forum.

perniks813 May 25, 2003 04:12 PM

I enjoy his posts, and if you can't figure out what he's saying, try harder.

Josh06 May 25, 2003 04:46 PM

I said nothing about how he contributes to the forum. I also said nothing about how his advice is ever wrong. I simply said that he could spell check, and grammer check for that matter, before he posts them.

We didn't say you did.....we are just showing support for him as what you said about his spelling and grammar could be hurtful......we wanted him to know we wanted him to continue to post.....and spelling and grammar check probably wouldn't help someone who this is a second language for, we have too many words that are similar and have different meanings and usages.

JOsh06 May 25, 2003 05:50 PM

Well, I apologize if I hurt or offended him, as that wasnt my intention. I didn't know that English wasn't his first language and it was my mistake for assuming that it was.

Josh06 May 25, 2003 06:23 PM

No, I dont know any Dutch. But why would I need to?? You choose to come in a forum where the language used is English so if you want to use it then you are going to need to know English. I am pretty fluent in Spanish though.

Prozac?

Seriously though, if you don't like reading B22's messages then don't read them. It's not like they sneak up on you... you know WHO the person posting is.

B22- I think you type fine. I can understand it. Maybe it's because being a webmaster of a well known newt and salamander webpage I get emails from all different types of people from all places of the world. You think B22's typing is bad, you should read some of what I've gotten.

Word of advice for everyone- be tollerant and accepting of change. Be adaptable and flexable. Life is much more fun that way.

Josh06 May 25, 2003 09:20 PM

The only reason I got mad about this whole thing is, because after I apologized people kept posting about it and dragging it along. I mean, I already admitted I was wrong and people still want to call me out on it.

to the level that b22 has is the day I BEGIN to consider forgetting about your last asinine comment.

This is the www and as such YOU have to expect and appreciate that people who's primary language is not English still have a right (and in b22's case, a responsibility ) to contribute.

In 6 months of reading this forum you're actually the first person I've seen complain about someone's use of English. Does that put your attitude into perspective?

Also, I couldn't care less about your Spanish. It's irrelevant and frankly the fact that you felt it necessary to provide that information just makes you look all the more immature.

Finally, my apologies to those of you that just want to see the thread die. Sometimes I just get so chapped about unfairness I have to respond. My first and last post on the matter.....

Steve

LdyPayne May 25, 2003 08:23 PM

I don't know any Dutch so my spelling would be well, impossible in that language. I never intended to be insulting or rude, just felt I should suggest finding ways to improve your writing skills. I certainly don't feel mine is perfect but i do try to spell everything correctly and use good grammer. I guess what bothers me the most about B22 is the structure of his posts..short sentences that read very choppy to me..I can understand it but it's not as easy as other posts here. I do have to admit he isn't the worse spelling/grammer poster here.

ted6199 May 25, 2003 02:45 PM

Your babies are awesome, B22!!!

I remembered that just as I hit the "Post Message" button! LOL! Wish we were closer; I'd love to have one of your beautiful babies!

I think the new forum takes getting used to, especially for those of us who have been here using the old forum for a couple years and some quite a bit longer.

As for the comments about b22 posts. I have no problems understanding the posts. I think those of you who suggested using spell check need to learn a little more tolerance. Also how about reading the posts a couple times through? I bet most of you just skim it and expect it to be perfect for your convenience. I do agree that spell check is a useful tool and might help but when english isnt your first language and your not sure of a words exact spelling or even sure of all the definitions and you bring up spell check and get several options, it isnt always easy to see what word belongs. For us where english is our first language, it is, but look at it from another side.

I feel if you think they are too hard to read, dont read them! Its a simple solution. Also what you seem to forget is that the majority of people on this forum simply post pictures and no real help for bearded dragon owners. I am not saying that pictures arent nice! But before you put someones typing, spelling, grammar down maybe you ought to consider the bearded dragon care, health and info contributions you might be losing, since those of you who were rude about it were the ones whom barely ever if ever placed a thread that was informative and helpful for others.

This forum has lost many valueable people due to its intolerance, flamming, and bull crap to be honest. Its sad! Well thats all I have to say. Just my opinion. LindsayMarie

Josh06 May 25, 2003 06:27 PM

The answer is simple as to why I wouldnt post an answer to someone's question. The first reason would be that I might not know the answer, would you rather have me posting the incorrect answer, or no answer at all. Second reason is that by the time most of the questions have been seen, the answer has clearly all ready been given.
