Breeding Question?

JMo Nov 22, 2009 06:24 PM

Getting ready to put my male mojave back in with the female tomorrow - noticed he is in a pre-shed mode - will probably shed sometime around next weekend.

Question - do I put him back with the female now or, do I wait 'til he sheds? When either the male or for that matter, the female, show signs of shedding, should I wait 'til they have completed their shed before I put them together again or it really doesn't matter?

Any advice or thoughts on the subject is appreciated.

Thanks,
Jim

I think it's a matter of personal choice. i continue to pair when they are in shed. However, my males generally refuse to breed when they are in shed. the females usually still will breed.

I would wait because if female sheds she gives off a powerful scent which atracts males
