Fertile eggs denting, help!

blazeyoungblood Sep 18, 2003 12:02 PM

I've had some eggs incubating for a little over a week now, and four are fertile. Problem is, The older two of the four are beginning to dent. I have them incubating at 84 degrees at 90% humidity, and the eggs are covered to avoid direct contact from dripping water. I have them half buried in vermiculite; what could be the problem? Any help would be great.

The problem could be they are not fertile ! Have you tried candling the eggs ?

Yes, and four of the six I candled had a small pinkish red spot on the top and some veins inside.

Do you mean that the eggs are covered in a way that prevents water from dripping, or they have an additional cover over them under the lid?

They are covered like they have a canopy that doesn't collect moisture so the water doesn't drip on them. It's about two inches above the eggs.
