time of feeding

gilese6 Nov 23, 2009 05:41 PM

Any thoughts on if there a preferential time to feed beardies? I've heard things related to digestion and time of feeding but haven't gotten anything definitive.
Let me know if you have any thoughts/ suggestions.
thanks!-
Erica

For adult dragons, once a day is fine, at whatever time convenient for you, as long as its at least 3 hours before lights out at night. Myself, I tend to feed mid afternoon.

Hatchlings to adulthood require more frequent feedings spread out during the day, so it is necessary to offer food about an hour after lights come on in the morning, then again every 2-4 hours depending on age (more feedings for younger dragons, less feedings for older dragons (till fully adult))

If your only feeding once a day. Morning is the best time. Just like people a good breakfast is the start of a good day.
