Twitching Female

nagrag Nov 23, 2009 07:37 PM

I have a female that I am in the process of breeding. I have not actually caught them in the act, but for some reason she is twitching. I can't figure out why.

The temps are correct so I do not think she is thermoregulating.

Has anyone seen this behavior before?

I appreciate your help.

Thanks.

One other thing - she is feeding fine, even while breeding on a XL Rat a week. She is also shedding fine. No mites, etc.

The twitching is almost more like a contraction and not a head twitch, but full body twitch.

I have been breeding snake for a long time and have seen this in pythons post egg laying, but I have not seen this in boas so I really appreciate any input I can get.

Thanks,
Rick

Couple questions... Have you caught them together at all?Wrapped up? Do they seem to be very active or relaxed? Are you 100% on the sex?

I have seen two males in ritual combat twitch at each other... And females who are unreceptive will twitch when the male is attempting to court...

Postional pix help as well...
