Few Tricolor Q's?

Brewster320 Nov 26, 2009 07:33 AM

What size would you say is breeding size for a male and female tricolor. Also this is my 08 male. I'm not sure which species of tricolor he is, although I think hes Lystrophis Pulcher, any thoughts?

'08s should be about ready to breed now. Don't wait too long to introduce males to females or you may get infertile clutches (which could lead to an eggbound female). I would hesitate to recommend a specific "minimum size" for breeding-females vary, and you have to take into account both length and weight. I've had females produce good clutches at 18 inches.
