What are my options?
No GTP's. Would prefer something active and friendly.
Opheodrys... They stay pretty small, are docile, active, and eat insects. I've heard they shouldn't be excessively handled, though, since it tends to stress them out.

The Giant Asian Green Snakes(Cyclophiops major) are cool and very active and docile.
Wayne has been working with these recently.

Cyclophiops Major A.K.A. Giant green snakes are AWESOME for pets. (However hard to get)
They eat Night Crawlers, Like tall cages with a tree inside, Mine is over a yard long and tolerates handling quite well.
Night Crawlers are easier to obtain in the winter than insects, the snake is "friendly" (He has bit me a couple times, always my fault)
If you do get one, be extra careful, if it escapes, you may never get it back, it will go up in the trees and vanish.
