Is there a way to permanantly bond 2 pieces together? I've been told you can "weld" it with acatone but don't know if it is true or how to go about doing it. Thanks

I believe there are solvents that will "weld" both acrylic (plexi) and polycarbonate (lexan) and presumably will weld them to each other. I would check out the IPS Weld On page and see which of their solvents will work on both.
If this is for a typical corner joint make sure to read up on how to properly cut and prepare your edge. There are also some excellent Youtube videos on this. Probably by Tap Plastics but I don't remember for certain.
It appears Weld On #16 and #40 will bond both materials and bond them to each other. #40 is a two part adhesive. #16 is a fast setting, medium bodied, adhesive and probably your best choice.

I should have also mentioned that #16 is about 1/3rd the price of #40.

i know that acetone will melt plexi/acrylic.....and will discolor the hell out it of so becareful. but in terms of welding, i don't think it will permanmently weld if weld at all.
