Dreaming of a White Christmas

dustyrhoads Nov 30, 2009 09:47 AM

When I opened my egg box yesterday morning, I saw a white nose and pink eyes sticking out of the first egg of the season to pip. Knowing that it could be an Albino (and not a Snow), I tried not to get my hopes up too much, but of course, I could not resist my curiosity and watched the egg all day, off and on, hoping the hatchling would reveal itself. By 1AM, I decided to finally go to bed. And this morning, with all the anticipation of a kid on Christmas morning, this is what I saw:

My first Snow, and my first suboc of the season, and it's a male too!

Whoa! What adults produced this one?

Have the other eggs in the clutch hatched?

>>Whoa! What adults produced this one?

The parents are an '03 Craig Trumbower Triple Het female x an unrelated '06 Triple Het male that I produced. The '06 Triple Het male was from a Loma Alta Albino bred to a Silver Blonde, het for European Albino female ("Darla".

Not yet, but another has pipped! After 105 days of incubation! Well worth the wait!

Sweet. Can't wait to see what else you get. I guess with that pairing, anything's possible.

Hey Dusty, congrats! I was the same way, first suboc of the season and it was a snow male. Can't wait to plug him into the amel blonde female het axanthic to start producing a few blonde snows in a couple years too.

Have a good one Dusty,

Gregg
