L@@K! Nova, Jungle, Stripe Line People!

ShadyLady Nov 30, 2009 08:05 PM

I have this little 3 year old female that I bred from two very normal appearing BCIs. Other than the male being a really pretty pastel, they are just nice looking boas. Several of her litter mates had connected saddles and striped tails, but nothing quite like her.

She is too small to breed this year, but I'm feeding her up now for next year. Problemo! What do you think I should breed her to? The only male I have is a hypo, who doesn't seem interested in women - LOL!

Thanks, Amy C.

First pic shows the pink on her sides. Second pic is bad color, but shows her pattern.

If you are unsure of the history of the parents, how do you know that your snake is in fact a nova or even a jungle boa?

I'm not saying she is either. I'm just wondering what I should breed her to to try to duplicate the pattern.

You should breed either her dad back to her or a sibling. I would go with a sibling seeing as you don't know which parent she might have gotten that possible mutation from.doing this may give you a super form.

Thanks, but that is the unfortunate thing. I have no siblings and no longer have her sire.

Breed her to something other than a Hypo as the Hypo gene is known to toss out aberrancies. Breed her to an Albino, that way if she does prove to be something special or atleast pass on her aberrancies you have the Albino version already in the works. You can find a male Albino that'll be ready by the time shes ready forsure. Might I suggest the Sharp Strain Albino?

My exact thoughts, Reubin, except for the Sharp part. I'm a poor person, LOL!
