Boa Breeding and gravid ?

pithons Dec 02, 2009 09:12 AM

Question.
Does a male boa know when a female is gravid. Will a male boa stop breeding the female if she is gravid. My male stopped courting my female but would not stop moving around the cage. The female has swelled up, but still no 'blue' phase of a shed. I was gonna take him out for a day or two(and I did), but instead of putting him back in his own cage, i put him in with a different female now he wont stop courting the new female. If he breeds both females would be great, but Id hate to make the mistake of pulling him off the first female too soon. Now what if I put all 3 animals in the same tank? Also, the 2nd female ate a rabbit about 1 month ago and still has not pooped. Id like for her to poo before she starts ovulating. Opinions please. Thanks.
