Ghost/Specter

Kevin Saunders Dec 03, 2009 11:25 AM

For those who haven't heard of what's been called the "specter" line of ghosts, it originated from some of Kathy Love's Naples ghosts. It's been suggested that something other than typical hypomelanism is at work in them (possibly strawberry which is allelic to hypo if I'm remembering correctly). I would link to some discussion about them and pictures of the parents, but I'm not sure that's allowed.

Anyway, I got two specter males a while back and I took a few new pictures of my favorite one today and thought some of you might like to see. I've been waiting for him to shed so he'd look his best, but I ran out of patience. It seems like it's been a week since he was cloudy, but he still hasn't crawled out of that old skin yet. Here are pictures of him straight out of the shipping box a few weeks ago.

Here are some from today (I may add some more after he sheds).

I was interested in this guy because of his fused saddles since I was hoping to try and produce some aberrant ghosts. As far as I'm concerned, the possibility of adding the hypo trait in my collection is just an added bonus.

At the moment I only have one ghost female, so he'll likely be bred to her at some point. I love the way she's turning out and hope to produce more that look as good as her.

Oh my gosh, they are absolutely gorgeous! It will be exciting to see what their offspring will look like. Congratulations!

OMG they are absolutely stunning. What I would do to get my hands on one. Unfortunately for now I can only house one snake comfortably

These are really nice looking!

I too am space-constrained at the moment or I would want to expand. Maybe in a few years I will be looking for some hatchlings from you!
