I have a 20lbs female and a male blood that is about 20 months old...there is a big size difference but just wondering when a male blood will hit sexual maturity? Any info will be great.
Thanks
Jamie

Hey,
Males will come into breeding a lot sooner than females will and can be bred at about 2 years of age (3-4ft weight: 10Lbs appx.), whilst females will take a little longer; 3-4 years to be exact.
I admit though, that, some have bred sooner than that, but not a good idea to breed them that young as they don't quite have the size nor sexual maturity and you can run the risk of egg binding a young female that is not in her breeding prime.
Albeit, some power feed younger animals with the intent to breed them early. These are not Burms, or Retics and must be treated differently than you would one of these animals. Hope that helped.
