Mex Mex Possibilities....

Jlassiter Dec 03, 2009 11:40 PM

It sure is going to be fun to cross all these Mex Mex looks next year....

I think we are well on our way to seeing some never seen before Mex Mex.....Black & Pinks will be awesome, especially with pink speckles...Then there's some striping to work with in the future.....

So nice to be excited again about snake projects....

Thanks..... That totally speckled one is a female and the granite one is a male....Those two will be paired together this coming Spring to produce some more Speckled/Granite offspring.....

I have not been a very big snake fan. Lizard lover though. I have a few corns and my CA King is an escapee running around my house somewhere...but your photos have me intrigued!! Thanks for sharing. Stunning colors & patterns.

Glad you enjoy them....I am glad to be excited about the hobby again for sure....Especially with the opportunities with Mexicana and Getula.....

Coincidentally I just started to get some lizards.....
I really like Gargoyles, Cresteds and the Mexican Arboreal Alligator Lizards...Soon I'll have some...Right now all I have is this lone male sub adult Garg.....

Yep...I think we've put together the best breeding group possible in the Mex Mex department....

I wonder if there are anyone else working on crossing Hypo-E X Black X Granite Mex Mex???? I haven't heard of anyone else yet.....

This year we should produce some offspring from pairing up:
Black X Hypo-E
Black X Granite
Hypo-E X Granite
Granite X Classic
Black/Burgundy X Classic

While still potentially producing offspring from pairing up:
Hypo-E X Hypo-E
Granite X Granite
Classic X Classic

Should prove out to be fun.....IMO

I am glad Shannon wanted to get all these adults together....
I have all the ingredients myself but some are too young to breed....Now we have every possible combination we wanted to do this coming season....

I will gladly share pics when the potential eggs hatch....

Couldn't happen to a nicer snake. Their keeping qualities are just great.

I'm glad you mentioned that Mark....
They are VERY easy to keep and breed.
Very hardy & robust feeders.
Amazingly docile too....
Hatchlings are WAY easier to get to feed than 'other' Mexicana and Alterna.....

An all around great snake...even for a beginner IMHO....
