breeding albino boa's

dragonvet2 Dec 04, 2009 12:24 AM

i have heard that breeding two alike strian {khal} strain for instance is bad. something about getting a lot of slugs and deformed babies. is their any truth to this? should i be trying to get some het albino's to breed with my albino's?

the albino gene has been inbred so much that yes there are quite a few folks that have bred albino to albino and got horrible results but i also know of people doing it with great success. personly i would try maybe a het or hypo het instead of 2 albinos but you never know it may work well for you now if these are the only boas you have and you really want to have a good breeding try out crossing a liile bit to better youre odds.... hope this helps... regards
