The three bill attacking our hobby

PHFaust Dec 04, 2009 01:04 PM

The most common question after one of the hearings is "Are pythons illegal or what".

Here is an article breaking down all three bills we are looking at.
Are my Pythons Illegal?

So I thought that you were going to say the three bills attacking our industry are:
Dollar BILLS being pushed by animal extremists to Senator BILL Nelson to make up unnecessary and worthless Senate BILLS.

---or another variation---

BILL Nelson pushing a Senate BILL to get pythons banned so his state can get some federal dollar BILLS to line his pockets!

Good info Cindy! Thanks for putting it all in one place. It definitely helps to alleviate and make sense of some of the confusion and repetition.

What's written above is purely my opinion. In fact, MOST of what you read on the internet is someone's opinion. Don't take it too seriously

the gouverment is wanting to create a law that no one can legaly have Pythons and maybe also Boas in the USA ?
Will this law be for allover the states ?

Seigi,

What the media is reporting are lies, junk science and half-truths. ALL the evidence so far points to Hurricane Andrew (ie, mass desctruction) as being the major cause of breeding populations in south Florida. And while some schmuck may occasionally release a python, it just doesn't make sense that there enough of these schmucks driving to some isolated area so that the pythons would hook up and breed. There are several laws being proposed, but you have the right idea. The one we are fighting right now would essentially kill the python (all species called pythons) and boa constrictor trade.

Don't believe anything you see on TV about this.

Thanks,
Ed
