bosc questions

ross.geddes Sep 18, 2003 03:58 PM

what substrate should i use in a 8 x 6 bosc enclosure? i was thinking of getting a load of top soil delivered but will it be clean enough?
and what do you all feed your boscs?
and how quick do they grow?

before you get a "load" delivered, try a few buckets first in a small setup, and see how it digs and works for you. dirt is not dirt is not dirt. some works, some doesn't, but you just have to try it out. straight topsoil doesn't usually work too well. better to find out with 200 pounds than 2000 : )

check out our FAQ at our site, there are two pieces on soil there. the general idea is "try different things until you find something that works well for you and is available in your area". there is no store that sells "Zoo Med Reptile Monitor breeding soil" : )
