This is real KINKY

Now that you took the bait
I got a hatchling from this year that looked fine (no dorsal kink)when it hatched but after a week or two I noticed one kink on its back.
That was august .It still had the kink four weeks ago but now that it has eaten a few times the kink has vanished.
Have you guys had hatchlings that showed this same thing?

Doug,
From my experience that is/was a malnutrition kink.....Many hatchlings that are weak or non feeders will develop these and it can lead to permanent kinks and death....
I have had many Mexicana non feeders, corns and southern plains ratsnakes develop these, but when they do start eating and gain weight the kinks either disappear or become unnoticeable....

Mike...
I HAVE seen kinks "disappear".....
There are genetic deformity kinks then there are malnutrition kinks....
The OP stated they snake hatched out fine and developed a kink then after eating it disappeared.....Sounds like a malnutrition kink to me.....I don't know if they completely go away or if they just become completely un noticeable.....I could not notice them be sight or touch....I have seen this on more than one occasion with Mexicana, Alterna and Cornsnakes......

I'm not quite sure but I remember discussing the subject a while back. Maybe it wasn't with you. I'm getting old so.
