VERY BLUE IGUANA...OT but CLOSE

TOM_CRUTCHFIELD Dec 04, 2009 10:22 PM

Just to show how fast these lizards can grow under optimal conditions remember the small 24" or so lizard I posted a very few months ago? Look at his size now. This is a male and the very small one I have is a female. Next year could be "BLUE GREEN IGUANA" YEAR...LOL

He is simply OWESAME Tom, but what happened to its snout, looks kind of hurt? However is nothing that some ointement wont cure in a few days. Also is this the same one you have in your page?

I moved him inside because he was pushing on the wire in the big outdoor enclosure. Not sure why but looks like spermatogenesis has hit every other male I have so perhaps young or not he was picking up pheramones from the females..He's a total different lizard inside now. His snout will be fine but I hate it when they rub like that...

Also even if your female blue aint ready yet you could, seing he is such a macho male, cross him with females of another variety to make hets, that would be very interesting. Wonder what would redxblue cross look like? I know albino vrs blue is snow igs and that is a very cool ig

I have everything here you could think of and all either c.b. or raised from babies by me. Presently I'm considering options. I am sure the blue one is an axanthic and all axanthic herps bred have proven to be a simple reccessive as albino's are. So I have Red's, Albino's, het Albino's [66%], and normals to breed so I'll decide soon as to what I intend to do this year.

This is the same lizard in May of this year...Pretty good growth. He's only began rubbing in the last 2 weeks and now that he's away from the mature female iguanas he's very calm again...
