FEEDING PROBLEMS--NEED HELP

blue_tegu Sep 18, 2003 04:49 PM

i bought some rat pups for Diego yesterday, but theyr'e just way too big for him. he's tearing them apart, pieces are flying all over, and it takes him forever to get them down. is there anyway i can make them easier to swallow--i.e. cut them up or anything? i dont want him choking and struggling.

thanks
chris

try pinkies or fuzzies maybe? mine can eat them and shes only 4 months. but ya try cuttin em up or scraping the meat off em and feed it to him as like gunk. =/ might be a bit gross but hell ea it and wont care.

Another thing you could try (if you don't mind using your blender for this kind of thing) is making it into a yummy smoothy. I know it sounds really gross, but you could throw a few of the rat pups in the blender with an egg and maybe some fruit and make him a special smoothy and he'd probably eat it right up and you don't have to worry about him choking. That's similar to what I do with Blake to get him to eat his fruits and veggies.
