a few questions just about morphs

jrmjjj Sep 18, 2003 04:50 PM

Okay well this is probally a stupid question for most people but what exactly is a tremper leopard gecko . Also can an albino leopard gecko be a hypo .

And one other question about what type of morph my leopard gecko is . This one is gonna be kind of hard because I don't have a picture so I'll try to describe it . Well it has one bright yellow spot below its neck and hit has two orange stripes on its back .and it used to have a big black spot at the begging of its tail but that faded out . And pretty much its hole body is yellow with small black dots except for the two horizontal orange stripes . I know its kind of confusing sorry .

tremper is a strain of albino, and there ARE such things as hypo albinos, they are known as hybinos, and this is my hybino:

Also, it sounds like your leopard gecko is a normal with some tangerine in it, but its hard to tell without the pics

Hi,

Are hybinos still classified as either Tremper, Bell, or LasVagas and what exactly makes them a hypo?

What type is the one you posted?
Its a really awesome gecko

Thankyou
Red

Tremper, Rainwater, and Bell refer to which strain or kind of albino it is, and hypo (or hybino) refers to the fact that the orange (or yellow) is taking over the pink/brown area of the leo....so you can have a hybino in ANY of the albinos, although right now I think trempers are the most common, as I have not seen any RW/Bell hybinos (although I'm sure kelli is working on that ). thank you for the compliment, that gecko is a tremper

Thankyou for explaining that. I'm not very familiar with albinos.......yet hehehe...

I do have a juvi tremper albino female and i can't wait for her to grow more. She's so pretty now and has such a great personality.

Sorry i said LasVagas instead of Rainwater hehehe.....the more i look at the three types of albinos, the more i like them.

Thanks again

las vegas and rainwater are the same thing. just a lot of people refuse to call them rainwater, becuase they despise Tim Rainwater, and just call them Las Vegas, as that is their place of origin.
