High yellow??

pal Sep 18, 2003 05:59 PM

I am finally resorting to asking a pretty stupid question. I keep seeing JCP's advertised as "high yellow". What exactly does that mean. My almost 6 foot 2 year old female is yellow like a lemon. Is that high yellow? Is it good to be high yellow or bad. (I love the color on my girl but she looks much more intensely yellow than the photos in the ads)

High yellow IMO means more yellow than black, like a 50/50. High yellow to others means high instensity yellow with very little corruption by flecking or speckles.

To me is saying that the snake has very bright yellow markings. I have four 50/50 JCP's and have never refered to them as high yellow. The people in the adds that use the term High Yellow are simply trying to grab your attention, which they did, but it is usually followed by a dissapointing picture of a snake like you pointed out.You will find that the best breeders don't use catch phrases to reel you in because they don't need to. Their snakes speak for themselves. I'll Post this pic again to show you a "High Yellow" that was never advertised as such. I got this guy from Will Leary.

I know that a few of the top jungle breeders use the term "high yellow" to describe animals with lots of yellow tipping in the black areas. This makes sense because it differentiates between 50/50s and the so-called "canary" yellows, "banana" yellow etc.
