What to do if......

Pithons Dec 09, 2009 07:17 PM

What are you breeders and hobbiest gonna do with all your high end boas if they get banned. I already made alot of calls and gonna make more tomorrow. But you know the saying, plan for the worst and hope for the best. What can you do with your $10k or $25k or $100k collections??

If it becomes illegal, the prices will only go up.

It is the way of the world.

I honestly have been hesitant to state this.

I run a reptile rescue. I have a large number of animals that are looking for placement that should they become illegal I really have no interest in. The rescue is not financially able to support these snakes for the next 30-40 years. We (our board) had a discussion today and quite honestly I will have to euthanize everything that becomes adoptable because of federal law.

I do however plan on taking a newspaper advert out with my euthanasia bill and a thank you Senator Bill Nelson for killing me today comment across it.

If this bill goes through, every reptile owner/breeder/ or anyone associated with the reptile business in the US should take out a class action law suit against the government and Senator Nelson.

Perhaps this question is a bit premature but I'll ask it anyway. If it does come down to this bill passing and a lawsuit needed, how will that work, as there will be thousands affected by this bill. Is this something USARK or PIJAC will spearhead? I don't know jack about the law and this like this so I was just curious...and don't get me wrong, I'm all about doing anything and everything we can to fight this grave injustice.
