Does this mean boa and python sales are over? This is awful, who will I sell my boa osspring to? This sucks I Invested time and money into this hobby for nothing.

i have a question about this bill. the bill puts a halt to interstate trade and commerce, but does it say we cant own them within out own states. and if we can still own them in our own states can we sell them in our own states?

you can breed and sell in your same state but you can not ship or move them across state lines

This bill would make it illegal to breed and sell them PERIOD...... as is with all other injurious wildlife...

Basically this bill wont take away your snakes... but the snakes you have now.... will be the only snakes you will ever be able to own .... legally..... Currently it is illegal to breed animals on the injurious list without a federal permit(for institutional facilities like zoos etc.... it is also illegal to sell these animals(unless you are approved by the gov't as a research or scientific institution to another institution), transport them.....

The language of this bill would place these species in this category.... Once that's in place... you can face federal charges for breeding of selling your animals... even if you sell to a guy in your state...

That's why it is so important that people start fighting back...

Marc, I've done my best to read the provisions of the lacey act and not claw my eyeballs out, but I don't remember reading that you couldn't breed them, and that you couldn't sell or transport them within the animals state of residence.

Could you clarify that?

The bill does not make them illegal to own...but trust me that will not be far off.

The bill has also not been passed yet but will be going to vote in the senate.

I am not downplaying this at all, Now more than ever we need to recover from this heavy blow and come together once again for anoth grass roots movement!

ok this is really bad what else can we do? Ive been all the ball just like all/most of you doing all i can....

I have a question tho...i am moving this summer, and if this bills does pass is it going to be illegal for me to move my snakes to a new state with me?

to take your snakes with you. But it's also illegal to speed and to roll through a stop sign
