At the moment we are unsure of exactly how this proposed legislation will be interpreted if signed into law.
It sounds like the animals immediately jeopardy are currently the 9 constrictors included on their list.

However, if you keep ANY species of reptile....they may be in jeopardy in the near future.

In the future HSUS and other extremist organizations will try to cite laws previously passed (regarding animal restrictions)as precedent for further restrictions. This causes a domino effect. (Remember they cited the Ban of Primates and Big Cats when attacking reptiles.)

ALL KEEPERS OF ANY ANIMALS should be alarmed by the ground that has been gained by HSUS and these corrupted politicians.

This whole thing is about MONEY.
They do not care how many other people the hurt....as long as they profit from their actions.

Politicians gain from contributions/donations garnered from extremist organizations. They stand to gain federal funding for the inflated perception of a "crisis" which they have created.
They will continue to use your tax dollars against you, your businesses and your family. They are not looking for a solution to ANY problem...because a solutions would mean the funding would dry up. We need to remember those politicians who were against us, as well as those who supported us. Perhaps they will remember us, come election time.

HSUS and other organizations like PETA and Defenders of Wildlife have similar agendas.
They are happy to create the illusion that they are doing good for Americans, the Environment and Animals....so long as it keeps the donations pouring in.
The general public is quick to demonize animals that they know little about. Especially when the public has been spoon fed by propaganda flinging extremist organizations and national media outlets that only care about headlines, rather than hard facts.

What species are at future risk? ANY and ALL SPECIES.
It will not matter if they are imported or domestic.

These extremist organizations are merely flexing their muscles right now. They are happy to pick on the small guys. As they continue to gain momentum...watch out!

I firmly believe that ONLY way we can win is to create an organization to unite ALL people who keep, care for, and enjoy the right to interact with animals of any species.
The sheer numbers of such an organization would certainly overwhelm any opposition.
It will not happen overnight. It would take time and dedication to make it work...but isn't it worth an effort?
ALL people like their animals....not just snake people.
People involved in larger industries, like the cattle industry have a huge interest in maintaining their rights.
Think of all the farmers...dog and cat owners...fish keepers...Equestrians....etc.
With a unifying organization that fights for the rights of ALL animal keepers and caregivers, you will get lots of people who have different views....

BUT ALL WILL AGREE....they enjoy the rights they currently have and want to protect them!

LOTS of People would donate to an organization with that kind of agenda.
It would have funding from a multitude of supporters.
As long as the funds are appropriated in a productive manner...we would never lose support for it.
As long as it continued to fight for PEOPLE'S RIGHTS it would have monetary support.
Believe me, that kind of money would equal power, which could and would have some Serious Influence.

We are so busy focusing an the attack on our snakes that I sometimes feel like we neglect to look at the big picture.

It is not just about snakes....it is about losing the RIGHTS of AMERICAN CITIZENS.
I do not want to see a domino effect.
I want to see organization among people who love their animals.
Today really proves one thing...
If we do not unite...we will be forgotten.
We will be dinosaurs.
