female being a tease

Hello,
So FINALLY my 4 year old Dh sunglow male has shown A LOT of intrest in my 6 year old Het Albino girl. She, on the other hand, isn't giving him any play at all. It's been 2 days of constant courtship, I'm watching them like I'm watching tv...kind of ridiculous. She ovulated and shed before I put him in with her, but she's just not interested. Anyways, how can I get her in "the mood"? I'm thinking about separating them, cooling her down for 2 weeks, feeding her and warming her back up, and then reintroduce them. It's just in the mean time, I don't want him to loose intrest as well. Any advise is appreciated!!

Thank you!!

"She ovulated and shed before I put him in with her" This could be your problem was she with any other male this year or last?
Usually a male has to be in with a female to stimulate her to ovulate. When she ovs his job is pretty much done, and hell lose interested but since you said he is still interested are you sure it was an ovulation she had? Im sure there are others that can give you alot more info good luck with her

If she ovulated already ,its all over

Her Ova cannot be fertilized once they move out of the Ova Duct

Viable sperm deposit must be available right before and/or during ovulation or fertilization doesn't take place

Hopefully that was a pre ovulation swell you were observing !!

Oh geez....I had the two of them together in the spring of this year and neither showed intrest. I also had them together this time last years, again, neither seemed to dig the other. I noticed she was very swollen even after going to the bathroom, fed normally a week later, then she pooped, shed, and pooped again. I assumed that she was ov'ing, she was much larger then usual, hopefully I'm mistaken. This morning I got up and the two were coiled together but totally not "doing it" and I havn't seen the male doing his cute little wiggle dance all day. **sigh**

I guess I'll separate them and observe her...cross my fingurs for what looks like another ov and try again.

On the other hand...being that horrifing prospect of boas becoming illegal soon...should I maybe hold off until things are resolved? I'm terrified for all the babies out there that don't have homes, and don't want to get stuck with 15 boas on my hands with no buyers!

Leave them together, sometimes when one or the other goes into
shed the courting/breeding stops

That's been my observation here anyway.

Give them some more time just to be certain, like I said
maybe you observed pre ov swelling

Although if the male continues on the no interest path ...

Just have to see what results occur in
123 days from the swell you noticed
