tricolor hypo with great genetics

DMong Dec 12, 2009 12:01 AM

I just acquired this nice young adult breeder male from Rusty Green(RG).

This young hypo male is 100% het for amel and anery(snow), so there are tons of great combos to look forward to from him when bred to many of my other females here.

So true my friend. He can make everything under the sun, depending on what he's paired up with.

Those gaigeae of yours look to be doing great man!

but I didn't produce either, but I did select them!

I really like the border you put on your pictures...like matting in a frame, I might steal that trick from you!

Actually, while typing this, I went into photobucket and they have this killer border tool...LOVE IT! Photobucket ROCKS!

Well, you deserve it Rusty, every snake I've seen from you is in great condition, and well cared for.
I think the frame around a good photo makes the photo stand out a little better for sure. I like what you've done w/ the framing down below already.

He is killer Doug, and being Het Snow is awesome!

Since I don't have the cage space I once had, I'm picking Hondos with multiple traits. I'd like to be able to produce all the Hypo morphs (ghost, hybino, pearl) and when the prices come further down, the extreme morphs.

Speaking about extremes, the female I got looks like she's half way there, if you can call it that. I'm still not sure what's going on with the extreme genetics, but if it is just a really light hypo, then this girl is close.

She looks very similar to the Mega line tri-color hypo I got from Terry M. a couple years back. I hope to produce some killer stuff from that pairing.

Two things that are interesting about her; around her eyes she's extremely light, and her gray/black is mottled, not uniform like other hypos I've seen. I've tried to capture what I'm reffering to in the pictures below.

Yeah Rusty, I see what you mean about her dark scales being more mottled than others. That is very interesting man!.

That's a great looking pickup bro, with killer recessive genotype's to boot as well.

Nice looking pics too BTW!

Man, I dig the tri-colored hypos, especially with aberrant patterns.

Just curious, what substrate are you using and why. I have all my snakes (milk and fla kings) on aspen, but wondered if there was a better choice.

Thanks!

I like the chopped up walnut shell because of a few reasons; good at absorption of feces, appearance, color, and most importantly the small size (no risk of impaction esp. in neonates). It is also readily availed at most pet stores; they usually use it for birds.

Hope this helps you out, I highly recommend this stuff.

Thanks! I read your post too fast to notice the typo, and will look into the bedding.

Thanks again.
