HELP - What is THIS?

SPJ01 Dec 12, 2009 11:31 AM

The pictures are bad but she has red marks on her (looks brown in the photos). Any idea what may have happened? Did she rub against her corkbark hide? The earliest I could get her to a vet would be Monday. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

From here it looks like maybe she went trolling through her poo but if its red probably not. Stupid question #1 have you tried washing it off? Might just be some color she picked up from the bark or some tweaked scales from rubbing too hard which on a normal snake probably would have gone unnoticed but on a white snake shows up rather well. Doesn't look like anything that requires a vet visit but try washing it to see if it comes off or at least keep it clean until you figure out what it is.

I don't see it?...the rubbing little marks on top?...
it ain't nuttin...
what's a vet going to do...?...oh yea...take your money...
.I have an amel ball right now that rubbed his back all up shedding really badly...red all over the top...he'll do fine and shed it out better next time..winter is dry...cypress doesn't exist anymore so aspen ,dry, is what we have to use...

...it will be fine from what I am looking at

Just looks a little dirty to me...though that one dark scale on the side (lower left of the white area) looks either like a very well fed tick..or just an aberrant scale.

Give her a soak, use a soft used toothbrush to gently rub the dirty looking areas and see if it comes clean.

On top it looks just a little dirty in the pic. But it looks like a couple ticks for sure.

Soak her in a 10% Betadine solution for 20 minutes 3 days in a row and it will clear up with the next shed.
