Finally some snow here in PA...

gofer Dec 13, 2009 12:16 AM

Just like Dusty and Robert(congrats by the way to you guys!) after several years finally producing snow subocs. I am still keeping my fingers crossed as I have a few eggs left to hatch out but here is one that is out already.

Have a great day and thanks for looking!

Thanks Randy, and congrats on that really amazing looking patterned suboc you posted a little while ago. I have hatched out a few with busy patterning near the neck like yours has but nothing with that much, really like that suboc! I always like weird and aberrant patterned animals so if you part with some subocs like that please keep me in mind. If you ever want in on more albino capes I am finally getting my outcrossed blood hets up to size and should have a few for sale in a year or two.

Have a good holiday season Randy and hope to see you at a show again sometime soon.

Very nice animals indeed! I'm willing to bet those typically took quite a while to hatch as opposed to most other colubrids. So how long was their incubation period, and at what temps?

Great stuff man!, and good luck with some more nice ones hatching too.

Hello Doug,
Yes, these guys take longer to incubate for me but not as long as triaspis seem to for me. The first clutch which is hatching now (and a 2nd white head is out as of late tonight!) was laid on 9-9-09. The first snow hatched out 12-12-09 which I believe is 92 days and one normal was out yesterday plus the new snow which should be out hopefully by tomorrow.

Doug do you know anyone with locality triaspis by chance? I am looking to get another locale or two sometime soon as I really enjoy those guys as well.

Have a good one Doug and thanks for the great comments!

Thanks Todd and Mike for your great comments, always appreciated! These are amazing snakes, I am so happy to be working with so many right now. I just need to get my triaspis collection up in numbers now and I will be a very happy camper!

Have a good one and I will be posting more pics as these all shed out and I see what the second clutch brings!

This is so much fun, eh, Gregg?! Another friend of mine produced a Snow Blonde male earlier this year from two Triple Het babies I produced in '06!!

This is a lot of fun, finally some snows after all these years. I ended up with 2 snow blondes from that clutch. 2 more eggs to go from a possible triple het, so far just axanthic seems to be hatching out, still not bad seeing those pretty silver subocs hatching out either!

Have a great holiday season Dusty, congrats on your family addition too!!! That is great news!!!
